Chap. 431.—An ACT for the relief of the Town of Phoebus, with respect to certain
taxes paid into the State treasury, and to appropriate funds for this purpose.

, Whereas, The Old Point National Bank, in the Town of Phoebus,
remitted to the Commonwealth the total amount of taxes assessed against
its stockholders upon the taxable values of shares of stock owned by them
during the years and in the amounts indicated as follows:

Whereas, by virtue of the provisions of sections ninety-one and
ninety-three of the Tax Code of Virginia and of the tax ordinances of the
Town of Phoebus, the Town of Phoebus was entitled to eighty per centum
of each of the'said amounts; and , , ,
Whereas, it is deemed proper that the said town be reimbursed for
its share of the taxes thus erroneously paid into the State treasury;
therefore, , :
1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That the
Comptroller be, and he is hereby, directed to draw a warrant on the State
Treasurer, payable to the treasurer of the Town of Phoebus, in the sum
of five thousand, seven hundred and sixty-seven dollars and sixty-two
cents ($5,767.62), being eighty per centum of the aggregate amount of
the taxes paid into the State treasury as aforesaid, and that the State
Treasurer forward the said warrant promptly to the said payee. For the
purpose of this act there is hereby appropriated, out of the general fund
of the State treasury, the sum of five thousand, seven hundred and sixty-
seven dollars and sixty-two cents ($5,/67.62).
