Chap. 351.—An ACT to authorize the Governor to accept, on behalf of the Com-
monwealth of Virginia, a Conveyance from the Tidewater Tuberculosis Hospital
Association of certain property in Princess Anne County; to authorize the State
Board of Health when such conveyance’is made, to control, maintain, operate
and use such property in.connection with its work in the prevention and treat-
ment of tuberculosis. ; [S B 64]

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, as follows:
Section 1. The Governor of Virginia is hereby authorized to ac-
cept on behalf of the Commonwealth of inia, without consideration
and upon the tender of a good and sufficient.deed, accompanied by ab-
stract or other evidence of title, approved by the Attorney General, a con-
veyance from the Tidewater. Tuberculosis Hospital Association to the
Commonwealth of Virginia of certain real and personal property de-
scribed as follows: ,
(a) All that certain tract, piece or parcel of land, with all improve-
ments thereon and appurtenances thereto belonging, lying and situate in
the County of Princess Anne, State of Virginia, and bounded and de-
scribed as follows: | | -
Beginning at a point on the north side of the Boulevard leading from
Norfolk to Virginia Beach at the intersection of the north line of said
Boulevard with the east line of a certain right of way which was conveyed
by the said A. R. Chalmers, H. C. Hoggard, Jr., and Robert W. Tomlin
to Lynnhaven Villa Corporation by deed bearing date on the eighth day
of January, nineteen hundred and twenty-one, duly of record in the
Clerk’s Office of the Circuit Court of Princess Anne County, Virginia, in
Deed Book one hundred and nine, page forty, reference to which deed is
hereby made, and which said right of way is designated on the said plat
hereto attached as “ENTRANCE ROAD TO SUMMERVILLE”,
which said point of beginning is marked by an iron pin; thence running
along the eastern line of said right of way north five degrees thirty minutes
east one thousand, four hundred and ninety-three and eight-tenths feet,
more or less, to another iron pin set between two ditches in the east
line of said right of way; thence running between said two ditches
south seventy-nine degrees forty-five minutes east six hundred and
seventy-nine and nine-tenths feet, more or less, to another iron pin set
between the two said ditches; thence running south eight degrees forty
minutes west one thousand, four hundred and forty-seven feet, more or
less, to an iron pin set in the north line of the Boulevard leading from
Norfolk to Virginia Beach; thence running along the north line of said
Boulevard north eighty-one degrees eleven minutes west one hundred
and thirty and five-tenths feet, more or less, to a point; and thence run-
ning still along the north line of said Boulevard north eighty-four degrees
thirty-two minutes west four hundred and sixty-seven and three-tenths
feet, more or less, to the iron pin set at the intersection of the north line
of said Boulevard and the eastern line of the aforesaid right of way, the
point of beginning, the same containing, according to the said plat, twenty-
one and forty-nine one-hundredths acres. But this conveyance is made in
gross and not by the acre.
It being the same property which was conveyed to Tidewater Tuber-
culosis Hospital Association by H. C. Hoggard, Jr., and others by deed
dated April nineteenth, nineteen hundred and thirty-two and recorded in
the Clerk’s Office of the Circuit Court of Princess Anne County, Virginia,
in Deed Book one hundred and seventy-one, page fifty-one, to which deed,
and a plat of the said property made by J. F. Benson, Civil Engineer, and
attached to and recorded therewith, reference is hereby made for a more
particular description.
(b) All personal property of every kind and description, tangible
and intangible, used by the said Tidewater Tuberculosis Hospital Asso-
ciation in, or in connection with, the maintenance and operation of its hos-
pital or sanatorium on the said land herein authorized to be conveyed; it
being the intention of this act to authorize the acceptance by the Com-
monwealth of Virginia, of a transfer of all land, buildings and other pro-
perty, real and personal, making up the Tidewater Tuberculosis Hospital
as a going concern in active operation.
Section 2. When the said land and other property shall have been
so acquired by the Commonwealth of Virginia, the State Board of Health
is hereby authorized to take possession of the same and to control, main-
tain, operate and use the same in connection with its work in the preven-
tion and treatment of disease.
