Chap. 319.—An ACT to regulate the acquisition of motor vehicle tires, and to
prescribe penalties. [S B 231]

1. Beit enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia ;
Section 1. If any dealer acquire by purchase, gift or otherwise any
new or used motor vehicle tire, except upon a certificate from any State
or Federal rationing board or agency, and fails to file within ten days
thereafter with the sheriff, sergeant, chief of police, or other law enforce-
ment officer of the city, town or county wherein he resides designated by
the attorney for the Commonwealth of such city or county to receive it, a
written report setting forth the make, size, identifying number, price
paid therefor, and the name, race, age and address of the person from
whom such tire was acquired, he shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and be
punished accordingly.
Section 2. If any person, firm, corporation or association acquire
by purchase, gift or otherwise any new or used motor vehicle tire from

any person, firm, corporation or association not regularly licensed to en-
gage in the business of selling motor vehicle tires, except upon a cer-
tificate from any State or Federal rationing board or agency, and fail to
file in the manner and within the time prescribed in section one of this
act a report setting forth the make, size, identifying number, price paid
therefor, and the name, race, age and address of the person from whom
such tire was acquired, he shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and be pun-
ished accordingly.
2. This act shall be and remain effective only during the existence
of a state of war between the United States and Germany, Italy and Ja-
pan, or any one or more of them.
