postal work; to provide certain reservations; and to declare an emergency.

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That the
Code of Virginia be amended, by adding thereto a new section num
bered 19-(d) to read as follows:
Section 19-(d). The unconditional consent of the Commonwealtl
of Virginia is hereby given to the acquisition by the United States, o:
under its authority, by purchase, lease, ‘condemnation, or otherwise
of any lands in Virginia, from any individual, firm, association or bods
corporate, for sites for post offices, or for services incidental to posta
work, and, provided, however, there is hereby expressly reserved 11
the Commonwealth of Virginia the jurisdiction and power to serv
criminal and civil process on such lands.
Whenever the United States shall cease to use any of said lands sc
acquired for any one or more of the purposes hereinabove set forth
the jurisdiction and powers herein ceded shall as to same cease anc
determine, and shall revert to the Commonwealth of Virginia.
2. An emergency existing this act shall be in force from its pas
sage.
