Chap. 414.—An ACT to amend an act entitled ‘“‘An Act to provide for a new Charter
for the town of Farmville.”, approved February 10, 1890, by adding thereto a
new section numbered 11-a, empowering the town council to acquire, maintain,
control and dispose of certain property for certain recreational purposes and
other public uses, under certain conditions. {HB 416]

1. Beit enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That an
ict entitled “‘An act to provide for a new charter for the town of
Farmville.”, approved February tenth, eighteen hundred and ninety,
ye amended by adding thereto a new section numbered eleven-a,
which new section shall read as follows:
Section 11-a. The council of the said town shall have the power
to acquire by purchase, gift, devise, condemnation, or otherwise, any
-eal estate or interest therein, within or without the town, and such
personal property as may be necessary, for public recreation, parks,
playgrounds, streets, or boulevards, or other public uses, and to
maintain, control, and dispose of the same in the manner provided by
seneral law; provided that two-thirds of the members elected to the
said council shall authorize the same.
