Chap. 246.—An ACT to fix the number of terms of the circuit courts of the twenty-
fourth judicial circuit, and to designate the days upon which the same shall
commence. [H B 437]

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia That in
each of the counties of Russell and Scott, comprising the twenty-
fourth judicial circuit, there shall be held four terms of the circuit
court in each year, which terms shall commence respectively as
follows:
(1) In Russell County on the second Monday in May, September
and December, and on the third Monday in February; and
(2) In Scott County on the second Monday in January, April,
July and October. The judge of the said circuit may, from time to
time, change the day for the commencement of the said terms of his
courts, or any of them, as provided by section fifty-eight hundred
and ninety-three of the Code of Virginia.
2. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from and after
May 1, 1940.
