Chap. 23.—An ACT to authorize boards of supervisors, councils and other govern-
ing bodies of counties, cities and towns to enter into certain agreements for the
purpose of providing for their respective counties, cities and towns paintings,
carvings, sculpture and other works of art; and for such purposes to authorize
such boards of supervisors, councils and other governing bodies to furnish
materials, services and supplies and to appropriate and expend mon, 12)

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That
the board of supervisors, council or other governing body of each
county, city and town in this Commonwealth is hereby authorized
and empowered to enter into such agreements with appropriate
authorities or agencies, acting under legislation enacted by the Con-
gress of the United States, to provide and secure for such county,
city or town such paintings, carvings, sculpture and other works of
art as may be specified in such agreements, and for such purposes
the said board of supervisors, council or other governing body may
furnish such materials, services, and supplies and appropriate and
expend from the general funds of such county, city or town such
moneys as the said board of supervisors, council or other governing
body may deem proper.
