Chap. 20.—An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors or other governing body
of any county adjoining a city having a population of more than 100,000 and
less than 150,000, according to the last preceding United States census, to levy
a special assessment in any magisterial district for fire protection, lights, drainage
and other improvements, and to validate levies heretofore made for such
purposes. [H B 65]

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That
the board of supervisors or other governing body of any county
adjoining a city having a population of more than one hundred thou-
sand and less than one hundred and fifty thousand, according to the
last preceding United States census, shall have the power and au-
thority to levy a special assessment on the property in any magisterial
district in such county, subject to local taxation, for the purpose of
raising funds to provide fire protection, lights, drainage, and other
improvements deemed necessary by such board or governing body,
for the welfare of the people in such district; and that any such levy
heretofore levied, or levied and collected, by such board or governing
body, shall be considered, and it is hereby as covered by this act.
