1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That
section sixteen hundred and thirty-eight of the Code of Virginia, as

Section 1638. Nothing contained in section sixteen hundred and
twenty-four to sixteen hundred and thirty-six, both inclusive, shall
be construed to apply to duly licensed physicians authorized to prac-
tice medicine under the laws of this State, nor shall anything in
section sixteen hundred and thirty-seven sub-section j} be construed
to prohibit the sale of spectacles, and eye-glasses, or any of such
articles, as merchandise from a regularly located and established
place of business.
2. If any provision of this act, or the application thereof to any
person or circumstances, is held invalid, the remainder of this act
and the application of such provision to other persons or circum-
stances shall not be affected thereby.
