Chap. 327.—An ACT to authorize and empower the Rector and Visitors of
the University of Virginia to sell and convey a certain piece or parcel of
land in the county of Albemarle, Virginia. [S B 244]

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That the
Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia, be, and it is hereby
authorized and empowered, to sell and convey by proper deed to the
purchaser or purchasers, a certain piece or parcel of land lying and
being in the county or Albemarle on the north margin of Ivy road,
and particularly bounded and described as follows:

“Beginning at a point on north margin of Ivy Road one hundred
and forty-six feet south-east from an iron corner F. A. Eddins thence
along north margin of Ivy Road south forty-eight degrees and forty-
five minutes east forty-eight feet to an iron thence new lines with
University of Virginia Property north twenty-six degrees and six
minutes east one hundred twenty-nine and nine-tenths feet to an iron
in angle of wall north thirty-two degrees and fifty-three minutes east
one hundred thirty-seven and six-tenths feet to iron northeast corner
wall north nine degrees and two minutes east thirty- eight and seven-
tenths feet to an iron and north fifty degrees forty-six minutes west
thirteen and seven-tenths feet to a point on east margin of an old
twelve foot alley (twelve feet southeast from an iron in branch)
thence along east margin of said alley now the property of Miss
Carrie Preston Davis south thirty-three degrees and thirty minutes
west one hundred ninety-six and five-tenths feet to the beginning’,
being a part of a tract of forty-two and five-eighths acres which was
conveyed to the Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia
by deed of Addison Maupin and wife, dated July first, eighteen hun-
dred and sixty-seven, and recorded in the Clerk’s Office of the Cir-
cuit Court of Albemarle County, in Deed Book sixty-three, page thirty-
two.
