Chap. 195.—-An ACT to transfer the records and papers of the late Prohibition
Department in the basement of the State Library Building, Richmond, Vir-
ginia, to the custody of the State Librarian, with authority to preserve or
destroy certain records and papers. [fH B 455]

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That the
records and papers of the Prohibition Department of Virginia, which
was abolished by an act of the General Assembly of Virginia, approved
March seventh, nineteen hundred and thirty-four, and now on deposit
in the basement of the State Library Building, Richmond, Virginia,
be, and the same are hereby, transferred to the custody of the State
Librarian of the Virginia State Library with authority vested in said
State Librarian to preserve such of the records and papers as he may
be of the opinion should be preserved for historical or other interest,
and with like authority vested in said State Librarian to destroy or
cause to be destroyed such of the records and papers aforesaid as he
is advised are of no historical or other value.
Z. An emergency existing, this act shall take effect from its pas-
sage.
