Chap. 18.—An ACT to authorize the Chairman of the Commission of Game
and Inland Fisheries, to issue permits to gig certain kinds of fish in Clinch
River, within Russell County, during certain periods and upon certain
conditions. [H B 135]

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That the
Chairman of the Commission of Game and Inland Fisheries be, and he
is hereby, authorized to issue permits to gig red-horse, carp, and any
other fish not classed as game fish, in Clinch river, within the county
of Russell, during daylight hours only, from April first to January
first in any year or years, to persons who will agree to assist the
game wardens within said county without compensation, for the en-
forcement of the game and fish laws in said county, and the Com-
missioner of Game and Inland Fisheries shall cause the game wardens
of Russell county to issue such permit to any resident of this State
who applies in writing to said commissioner or said game warden
for such a permit.
Such permits shall be of such form as the said chairman may deem
proper.
Z. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its
passage.
