Chap. 160.—An ACT to amend the Code of Virginia by adding thereto a new
section numbered 2773, providing compensation for clerks of boards of super-
visors; and to repeal section 2772-a of the Code of Virginia. [H B 393]

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That the
Code of Virginia be amended by adding thereto a new section num-
bered twenty-seven hundred and seventy-three, which new section
shall read as follows:
Section 2773. Salary of Clerks.—Such clerk shall receive a rea-
sonable compensation for his services as clerk of the board not to ex-
ceed in any one year the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars, and
the clerks of the board of supervisors of the counties of Augusta,
Rockingham and Wise may, in the discretion of said boards receive
a salary not exceeding seven hundred and twenty dollars per annum,
and the clerks of the board of supervisors of the counties of Bath,
Highland, Dinwiddie, Lee, Grayson, Buchanan, Russell, Prince
George, Surry, Pulaski and Nottoway may, in the discretion of the
said boards, receive a salary of not exceeding three hundred dollars
per annum; and the clerk of the board of supervisors of the county
of Culpeper may, in the discretion of said board, receive a salary not
to exceed the sum of six hundred dollars per year.
2. Be it further enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia,
That section twenty-seven hundred and seventy-two-a of the Code of
Virginia, be, and the same is hereby, repealed.
