Chap. 431.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 2454 of the Code of Virginia,
in relation to the lien on real estate for taxes and levies. [H B 437]

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That section
twenty-four hundred and fifty-four of the Code of Virginia be amended
and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
Section 2454. Lien on real estate for taxes and levies —There shall
be a lien upon all real estate for the taxes assessed, and county, district,
city, and town levies assessed thereon, prior to any other lien or
encumbrance thereon. The words “taxes” and “levies,” as used in
this section, include the penalties and interest accruing on such taxes
and levies in pursuance of law.
