Chap. 381.—An ACT giving the consent of the Commonwealth of Virginia to
the United States of America and any contractor or agent thereof to use
certain marsh lands owned by the Commonwealth of Virginia, as an area for
the disposal of materials resulting from dredging and maintaining a navigable
channel in Starlings creek, in ‘Accomac county and to release the United
States of America and its contractors and agents from claims for damages
accruing to the Commonwealth as a result of the dredging and maintenance of
such channel. [S B 219]

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That in
consideration of the United States of America dredging and maintain-
ing a navigable channel in Starlings creek from Pocomoke Sound to
the mouth of said creek, the Commonwealth of Virginia does hereby
give its consent to the United States of America, and to any contractor
for or agent of the United States of America engaged in such work, to
deposit the material removed from such creek, both in constructing
and maintaining said channel, upon the marsh lands owned by the
Commonwealth of Virginia, adjacent to and on the south and south-
west of said Starlings creek, in Accomac county; and the Common-
wealth of Virginia does hereby release the said United States of
America and its contractors and agents from all claims for damages
which may accrue to the Commonwealth as a result of the prosecution
of said work in connection with the initial dredging of said channel
and the future maintenance thereof.
