Chap. 377.—An ACT to authorize the city of Danville to acquire, own, construct,
operate and maintain a street railway system and electric and gasoline buses
in the city of Danville and Pittsylvania county. [H B 531]

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That the
city of Danville, by action by its governing body, is hereby authorized
to acquire by purchase, lease, or otherwise, and to own, construct,
operate and maintain in the city of Danville and in Pittsylvania
county a street railway system, and a system of electric and gasoline
buses. It may own and operate any one or more of these systems in
its discretion, and the said city of Danville is further authorized to
do all things necessary and incidental to the legal and proper opera-
tion of a street railway system and buses.
