Chap. 365.—An ACT to authorize the payment, with the approval of the Governor,
out of the unexpended balance of money appropriated to the Division of
Motor Vehicles for the biennium ending June 30, 1936, of fees for professional
services rendered in the defense of police officers of the said division in
prosecutions for alleged criminal acts committed by such officers while in the
discharge of their official duties. [H B 548]

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That the
State Treasurer be, and he is hereby, authorized to pay, out of the
unexpended balance of money appropriated to the Division of Motor
Vehicles for the biennium ending June thirtieth, nineteen hundred and
thirty-six, fees for professional services rendered in the defense of
police officers of the said division in prosecutions for alleged criminal
acts committed by such officers while in the discharge of their official
duties, such payments to be made on the warrants of the Comptroller,
issued only upon vouchers approved by the Governor, provided, how-
ever, that such fees for said professional services shall not exceed two
hundred and fifty dollars,
