Chap. 356.—An ACT to amend the Code of Virginia by adding thereto a new
section numbered 2772-a relating to the compensation of clerks of boards of
supervisors; and to repeal section 2773 of the Code of Virginia. [H B 507]

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That the
Code of Virginia, be amended by adding thereto a new section num-
bered twenty-seven hundred and seventy-two-a, which new section
shall read as follows:
Section 2772-a. Salary of clerk.—Such clerk shall receive a reason-
able compensation for his services as clerk of the board, not to exceed
in any one year the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars, and the
clerks of the board of supervisors of the counties of Augusta and
Wise may, in the discretion of the said boards, receive a salary not
exceeding seven hundred and twenty dollars per annum; and the clerks
of the boards of supervisors of the counties of Bath, Highland, Din-
widdie, Lee, Grayson, Buchanan, Russell and Nottoway may, in the
discretion of the said boards, receive a salary of not exceeding three
hundred dollars per annum.
2. Be it further enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia,
That section twenty-seven hundred and seventy-three of the Code of
Virginia be, and the same is hereby, repealed.
