Chap. 270.—An ACT to appropriate $1,000.00 to the State Commission on Con-
servation and Development, to be used on a matched money basis for the
erection of a monument to General J. E. B. Stuart, on which the Con-
federate veterans of Patrick county may be memorialized, said monument to
be erected at Stuart, Virginia. [H B 312]

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That there
be, and there is hereby, appropriated to the State Commission on
Conservation and Development, out of any funds in the State treas-
ury, not otherwise appropriated, the sum of one thousand dollars to
be used on a matched money basis for the erection of a monument to
General J. E, B. Stuart, on which the Confederate veterans of the
county of Patrick may be appropriately memorialized, said monument
to be erected in the town of Stuart, in the county of Patrick, on a location
to be mutually agreed upon by said Commission and the board of super-
visors of said county. This appropriation is in lieu of the one thousand
dollars appropriated to the said Commission for a similar purpose, at the
nineteen hundred and thirty-four session of the General Assembly, and
shall be promptly used by the said Commission for the purpose herein-
above specified, upon the amount thereof being matched by a like, or
larger, amount of money by the county of Patrick, or the citizens thereof.
