Chap. 213.—An ACT to authorize State departments, agencies, bureaus and
institutions to accept grants of funds made by the United States, or any
department or agency thereof, to be applied to purposes within the functions
of such State departments, agencies, bureaus or institutions, respectively, and
to administer and expend such funds for the purposes for which they are
granted; to ratify and affirm any previous actions of State departments,
agencies, bureaus and institutions in accepting and/or administering and
expending such grants; to appoint the treasurer of Virginia custodian of
such funds and authorize him to disburse the same on warrants issued by
such departments, agencies, bureaus and _ institutions. [S B 314]

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That any
department, agency, bureau or institution of this State be, and hereby
is, authorized to accept grants of funds made by the United States
government, or any department or agency thereof, to be applied to
purposes within the functions of such State department, agency, bu-
reau or institution, and to administer and expend such funds for the
purposes for which they are granted.
2. The actions of any State department, agency, bureau or institu-
tion in heretofore accepting and/or administering and expending
grants, as mentioned in the preceding section, are hereby ratified and
affirmed.
3. The treasurer of Virginia is hereby appointed custodian of all
such funds, and shall disburse them on warrants issued by the depart-
ment, agency, bureau or institution for whose use they are granted.
An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its passage.
