Chap. 200.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 16 of an act entitled an act
to provide a new charter for the city of Alexandria, Virginia, approved
March 24, 1932, relating to filling vacancies. [H B 225]

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That section
sixteen of an act entitled an act to provide a new charter for the city
of Alexandria, Virginia, approved March twenty-fourth, nineteen hun-
dred and thirty-two, be amended and re-enacted so as to read as
follows:

Section 16. In case of a vacancy arising in the office of civil and
police justice, or in any elective municipal office hereinafter mentioned,
except as otherwise provided, it shall be the duty of the council to
certify the same to the judge of the corporation court, who shall issue
his writ for an election to fill such vacancy in the manner prescribed
by the general election laws of the State.

Section 17. The civil and police justice shall also be judge of the
Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
