Chap. 172.——-An ACT to declare certain areas in the York river natural oyster
rocks, beds and shoals, to provide for a survey thereof, and to include the
same within the Baylor survey. [H B 482]

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That the
following ground in York river contained within the following bound-
aries be, and the same are hereby, declared to be natural oyster rocks,
beds and shoals and unassignable to any person for private use in
the same manner and to the same extent as if the same had been
embraced within the original Baylor survey: Beginning at a point
in York river known as Green Point Buoy, Can number six, thence
running southwest in a straight line a distance of four hundred yards,
thence southeast three-fourths east in a straight line to Munford Is-
land Spar Buoy number four B, thence northwest one-fourth north
in a straight line to Carmine’s Island Spar four C, thence northwest
three-fourths west in a straight line to Green Point Buoy Can num-
ber six, the point of beginning. The said area containing by esti-
mation one hundred and fifty acres, and lying between the channel
of York river and the natural rock beds and shoals of the said York
river. The expense of making said surveys and recording said plats
shall be paid by said Commissioner of Fisheries out of the general
oyster funds of the State, and the said natural oyster rocks, beds and
shoals shall henceforth be exempt from assignment to any person.
