Chap. 168.—An ACT to amend the Code of Virginia by adding thereto a new
section numbered 871l-a, providing for the inspection of potatoes and other
farm products by the Commissioner of Agriculture and Immigration; and to
repeal an act entitled an act to amend and re-enact an act entitléd an act to
create and maintain a State board of crop pest commissioners, and to define
its duties and powers, approved March 5, 1900, approved May 9, 1903, ap-

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That the
Code of Virginia be amended by adding thereto a new section num-
bered eight hundred and seventy-one-a, which new section shall read
as follows:
Section 871l-a. Any person growing Irish or sweet potatoes for
seed, or any farm products whether for seed or for other purposes,
may have such seed or products inspected by applying to the Com-
missioner of Agriculture and Immigragation for an inspection of
the same with reference to the presence of insect pests or diseases
liable to prevent the use of such plants, agreeing in the application
to pay the expenses of the inspection, and upon receipt of such ap-
plication and agreement, or as soon thereafter as may be conveniently
practicable, the Commissioner of Agriculture and Immigration may
comply with such request, and upon receipt of the expenses of the
inspection, shall issue to the applicant a certificate showing the con-
ditions found.
2. Be it further enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia,
That an act entitled an act to amend and re-enact an act entitled an
act to create and maintain a State Board of Crop Pest Commissioners,
and to define its duties and powers, approved March fifth, nineteen
hundred, approved May ninth, nineteen hundred and three, approved
March twenty-third, nineteen hundred and twenty-two, be, and the
same is hereby, repealed.
