Chap. 89.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 5 of an act entitled an act to
provide a new charter for the town of Colonial Heights, Chesterfield county,
Virginia, and to repeal all acts or parts of acts in conflict therewith, approved
March 21, 1930, relating to the administration and government of said town.

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That section
five of an act entitled an act to provide a new charter for the town of
Colonial Heights, Chesterfield county, Virginia, and to repeal all acts
or parts of acts in conflict therewith, approved March twenty-first,
nineteen hundred and thirty, be amended and re-enacted so as to read
as follows:
Section 5. The administration and government of the town of
Colonial Heights shall be vested in one principal officer, styled the
mayor, and one board, composed of five persons styled the council of
the town of Colonial Heights, together with a commissioner of the
revenue, a clerk, treasurer, and a chief of police, whose qualifications to
hold such offices, respectively, shall be the same as is required of per-
sons to vote and hold office under the Constitution and laws of the
State of Virginia. Vacancies in the council shall be filled within thirty
days, for the unexpired term, by a majority vote of the remaining
members thereof.
