Chap. 87.—An ACT to prohibit the pollution of certain waters in the counties of
Northumberland and Middlesex and to provide penalties for violations of
provisions of this act. [H B 105]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia as follows:
1. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to con-
struct or use any buildings or plants for the disposal of human wastes
or excrements or to lay or use sewer pipes or stable drains on the shores
of any of the shellfish areas approved by the State Health Commissioner,
in the counties of Northumberland and Middlesex, so that the drainage
from such buildings, plants, sewer pipes or stables shall be discharged
in or mingle with the waters of said areas or creeks, or to throw or
cause to be thrown any dead animal or animals, fowl or fowls into the
waters of such shellfish areas or creeks in said county. |
2. Any person, firm or corporation violating any provision of this
act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemanor, and upon conviction thereof,
shall be fined not less than five dollars nor more than one hundred
dollars for each offense.
