Chap. 320.—An ACT to prohibit the purchase of building materials, supplies
and equipment for buildings and structures being erected or constructed or
hereafter erected or constructed by, for or on behalf of the Commonwealth
and counties, cities, towns, departments, divisions, institutions and agencies
thereof from persons employed or acting as architects or supervising archi-
tects for such buildings and structures, and from partnerships, associations
and corporations in which such persons are financially interested, and to
prohibit the sale and supplying of such materials, supplies and equipment by
such persons, partnerships, associations and corporations; and to provide
penalties for violations of the provisions of this act. [H B 187]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, as follows:
1. No building materials, supplies and equipment for any building
or structure being erected or constructed or hereafter erected or con-
structed by, for, or on behalf of the Commonwealth of Virginia, or
any county, city, town, department, division, institution or agency
thereof, shall hereafter be purchased from any person employed or
acting as architect or supervision architect for such building or struc-
ture, or from any partnership, association or corporation of which such
person employed or acting as such architect or supervising architect is
an officer, director or stockholder, or in which such person is otherwise
financially interested. If any person shall buy, sell or supply, or con-
tract so to do, any building materials, supplies or equipment in violation
of the provisions of this act, he or it, as the case may be, shall be
guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be punished accord-
ingly, and in addition thereto all such contracts and agreements shall
be null and void and of no effect.
2. The provisions of this act shall not in any way affect any con-
tracts or the performance thereof, heretofore entered into for the pur-
chase and sale of building materials, supplies and equipment.
