Chap. 285.—An ACT to authorize the State Commission on Conservation and
Development to transfer and convey to the United States of America any and
all right, title and interest which the said commission and the Commonwealth
of Virginia has or may hereafter acquire in and to lands known as and _con-
stituting Richmond battlefield parks. [S B60]

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That the
State Commission on Conservation and Development is hereby author-
ized and empowered, subject to the provisions of section two of this
act, to transfer and convey to the United States of America, by deed
signed and executed by the chairman and executive secretary of the
said commission, any and all right, title and interest which the said
commission and the State of Virginia has, and may hereafter acquire
by deed, in and to that real estate known and designated as Richmond
battlefield parks.
2. The express conditions upon which this grant is made are:
1. In the event of the failure or refusal of the United States
to properly maintain the said battlefield parks, then the title thereto
shall revert to the grantors, and all rights now appertaining to the
grantors shall immediately be reinvested.
2. No marker shall be erected, moved or destroyed, and no
change, alteration or abrasion shall be made in the park area with-
out the consent of the Virginia Commission on Conservation and
Development, or its duly constituted successor in the governmental
structure of this Commonwealth.
3. The United States of America accepts the conveyance hereby
authorized, with these stipulations as covenants running with the land,
which shall be enforceable in proper tribunals.
