Chap. 245.—An ACT to prohibit the pollution of certain shellfish areas in the
counties of Accomac and Northampton and the pollution of the waters of
Chuckatuck creek in the counties of Nansemond and Isle of Wight, Urbanna
creek in the county of Middlesex, Bennett creek in Nansemond county, Carter’s
creek in Lancaster county, and Milford haven and its tributaries in the county
of Mathews; to provide penalties for violations of the provisions of this act:
and to repeal chapter 147 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1930, ap-

I. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, as follows:
Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, association or
corporation, to construct or use any buildings for the disposal of human
wastes or excrements or to lay or use sewer pipes or stable drains on
the shores of any of the shellfish areas approved by the State Health
Commission, in the counties of Accomac and Northampton, or on the
shores of Chuckatuck creek in Nansemond and Isle of Wight counties
or Urbanna creek in Middlesex county or Bennett creek in Nansemond
county or Carter’s creek in Lancaster county or ‘Milford haven or its
tributaries in the county of Mathews, so that the drainage from such
buildings, sewer pipes, or stable drains shall mingle with the waters of
said areas or creeks, or to throw or cause to be thrown anv dead animal
r animals or fowl or fowls into the waters of such shellfish areas or
reeks in the said counties. 7
Section 2. Any person, firm, association or corporation violating
ny of the provisions of this act shall be deemed guilty of a misde-
neanor, and upon conviction thereof, shall be fined not less than five
lollars nor more than one hundred dollars for each offense.
? Be it further enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia that

embly of nineteen hundred and thirty, which chapter is an act en-
itled an act to prohibit the pollution of certain shellfish areas in the
‘county of Northampton; to prohibit the pollution of the waters of
“huckatuck creek in the counties of Nansemond and Isle of Wight,
Jrbanna creek in the county of Middlesex, Bennett creek in Nansemond
county, Carter’s creek in Lancaster county and Milford haven and its
‘ibutaries in the county of Mathews, approved March twentieth, nine-
een hundred and thirty, be, and the same is hereby, repealed.
