Chap. 217.—An ACT to amend an act entitled an act to authorize the circuit cour
of Prince George county, or the judge thereof in vacation, to appoint a specia
police force for said county and to provide for the compensation of person:

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That an act
entitled an act to authorize the circuit court of Prince George county,
or the judge thereof in vacation, to appoint a special police force for
said county, and to provide for the compensation of persons appointed
as such special police force, approved March sixteenth, nineteen hun-
dred and twenty, be amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
Section 1. The circuit court of Prince George county, or the judge
thereof in vacation, may, if deemed advisable, appoint a special police
force for as much of said county as is not embraced within an incor-
porated town located in such county, to consist of one or more suitable
and discreet persons, who shall serve as such for such length of time
as the said court or judge may designate, or until others are appointed
in their places by the court or judge. Such person or persons so ap-
pointed shall be conservators of the peace in the said county. Such
court or judge may, if deemed proper, allow compensation to said police,
which together with any expense incurred in the execution of their
duties, shall be paid out of the county levy.
