Chap. 188.—An ACT to abolish the offices of overseers of the poor in the county
of Rappahannock, and to transfer the duties thereof to the board of super-
visors of such county. [H B 193]

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That the
offices of overseers of the poor in the county of Rappahannock be,
and the same are hereby, abolished, and the terms of office of each
overseer of the poor in such county be, and they are hereby, terminated.
The powers, duties and functions of such overseers of the poor are
hereby transferred to and vested in the board of supervisors of the
said county who shall exercise such powers and functions and perform
such duties without additional compensation. No overseer of the poor
shall hereafter be elected or appointed in the said county.
All acts or parts of acts inconsistent with this act are hereby
repealed.
