Chap. 176.—An ACT to authorize and empower counties, cities and towns to
pledge all or any part of fees, rents, tolls, charges and other revenues and
receipts from projects, improvements and undertakings, and extensions, addi-
tions, improvements and betterments, thereto to secure payment of their bonds,
interim certificates and other obligations. [S B 341]

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That in order
to secure the payment of any bonds, interim certificates or other obliga-
tions of counties, cities and towns issued or hereafter issued pursuant to
the provisions of chapter twenty-six of the Acts of the General Assem-
bly of nineteen hundred and thirty-three, approved September seventh,
nineteen hundred and thirty-three, for the purpose of financing any
projects as defined in the said act or for financing any extensions, ad-
ditions, improvements, or betterments to any such projects, the counties,
cities and towns of this Commonwealth are hereby authorized and em-
powered, in addition to any other powers which they now possess, by
resolution of the board of supervisors, council or other governing body
thereof to pledge all or any part of the fees, rents, tolls and charges
and other revenues or receipts (a) of any existing project, including all
extensions, additions, improvements, and betterments thereto, to which
project any extension, addition, improvement, or betterment is financed
by the proceeds from the sale of such bonds, interim certificates or
other obligations, and (b) of any extensions, additions, improvements,
and betterments which may at any time be constructed or acquired in
connection with any project financed in whole or in part by the proceeds
from the sale of such bonds, interim certificates or other obligations.
2. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its passage.
