1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That sec-
tion ten hundred and fifty-six of the Code of Virginia be amended
and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
Section 1056. On the presenting of such petition, it shall be referred
to a commissioner in chancery, or to a special commissioner appointed
by the court where such court has not general chancery jurisdiction,
to inquire into and report upon the matters therein contained, whose
duty it shall be to make such inquiry, to hear all parties interested
in such real estate, and to report thereon with all convenient speed.
