Approved March 16, 1934
1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That, except
where the charter of a corporation chartered in this State expires of
its own limitation, the fact of dissolution by voluntary action, or by
forfeiture of the charter for non-payment of taxes, or otherwise, where
the order of dissolution or forfeiture is entered by the State Corporation
Commission, shall be certified by the commission to the clerk of the
court in whose office the charter is recorded, who shall note the same
on the margin of such charter as recorded in his office. Where a
corporation is dissolved by the order of any court, the clerk of such
court shall, if the charter be recorded in his office, note the fact of such
dissolution upon the margin of the charter as recorded, or if the
charter be not recorded in his office he shall forthwith certify the fact
of such dissolution to the clerk of the court in which such charter is
recorded, who shall in like manner forthwith note such fact upon the
margin of the charter as recorded in his office.
