from the tax on motor fuel for maintenance of the State highway system as

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That the
State Highway Commission be, and is hereby, authorized to apply
funds becoming available for the State highway system from proceeds
of the tax on motor fuel to the maintenance of roads and projects in
the State highway system, as well as to the construction thereof, as
now provided by law.
