Chap. 52.—An ACT to constitute the town of Kilmarnock in Lancaster county
a separate school district for the purpose of representation on the county
school board of said county; to require the trustee electoral board of said
county to appoint a member of the county school board from said town; and
to provide what compensation such member shall receive. [S. B. 27]

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That the town
of Kilmarnock in the county of Lancaster shall be, and constitute a _
separate school district of said county for the purpose of representation
on the county school board of said county and for no other purpose.
It shall be the duty of the trustee electoral board of Lancaster county
to appoint, in addition to the members now provided by law, on or be-
fore September fifteenth, nineteen hundred and thirty-three, a member
of the county school board of said county from the town of Kilmarnock,
whose term of office shall expire on July first, ninteen hundred and
thirty-six. The member so appointed shall immediately qualify and
assume the duties of his office, and shall be compensated as other mem-
bers of said county school board. | :
On or before July first, nineteen hundred and thirty-six, and each
four years thereafter the said trustee electoral board shall, in like man-
ner, appoint at the time and for the same term of office that other mem-
bers of the board are appointed, a member of said county school board
of Lancaster county from the town of Kilmarnock whose term of office
shall be concurrent with the terms of office of the other members of the
county school board.
2. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its passage.
