Chap. 38.—An ACT to amend an act entitled an act to incorporate the town of
Purcellville, in the county of Loudoun, approved March 14, 1908, by adding
thereto a new section numbered 6, relating to selection of sergeant of the

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That an act
entitled an act to incorporate the town of Purcellville, in the county of
Loudoun, approved March fourteenth, nineteen hundred and eight, be
amended by adding thereto a new section, numbered six, to read as
follows:
Section 6. There shall be a town sergeant who shall be elected by
the council of the town. He shall hold office at the pleasure of the
council. The town sergeant now in office shall continue to serve until
the expiration of the term for which he has been elected.
2, An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its passage.
