Chap. 13.—An ACT to provide for co-operation between the Commonwealth of
Virginia and the United States Employment Service under an act of Con-
gress of the United States, approved June 6, 1933, entitled “An act to pro-
vide for the establishment of a national employment system and for co-
operation with the states in the promotion of such system, and for other pur-
poses,” and to that end to accept the provisions of the said act, to designate
a State agency, to authorize and empower the Treasurer of Virginia to
receive Federal grants, and to appropriate funds for such purposes. [S. B. 16]

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, as follows:
Section 1. The provisions of an act, passed by the Congress of the
United States and approved by the President on June sixth, nineteen
hundred and thirty-three, entitled “an act to provide for the establish-
ment of a national employment system and for co-operation with the
states in the promotion of such system, and for other purposes,” are
hereby accepted by and on behalf of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Section 2. The Department, of Labor and Industry, through the
free employment bureau of the said department, is hereby designated as
the State agency, and vested with all powers necessary, to co-operate
with the United States Employment Service in accordance with the
terms and conditions expressed in the act referred to in the preceding
section. -
Section 3. The Treasurer of Virginia is hereby authorized and
empowered to receive all grants of money apportioned to the Com-
monwealth under the act referred to in section one of this act, and all
funds so received are hereby specifically appropriated for the purpose
or purposes for which they are granted unto the Commonwealth.
Section 4. For the purpose of carrying out the provisions of this
act there is hereby appropriated the sum of one thousand ($1,000.00)
dollars, for the period beginning September first, nineteen hundred
and thirty-three, and ending June thirtieth, nineteen hundred and thirty-
four, out of any moneys in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, the
same to be paid by the Treasurer upon warrant of the Comptroller, upon
the proper voucher or vouchers required by the Comptroller, approved
by the Commissioner of Labor.
2. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its passage.
