Chap. 85.—An ACT to authorize and empower the county school board of Orange
county to convey, without consideration, certain land to the United States of

1.’ Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
county school board of Orange county be, and the same is hereby,
authorized and empowered to convey, by proper deed and without con-
sideration, to the United States of America, as a part of the wilder-
ness battlefield park, a certain piece or parcel of land owned by such
school board and lying and being in Orange county and described as
follows : |
Beginning at a point, which point is formed by the intersection of
the line dividing the property of the school board from the property
of J. F. Laird and the line dividing the property of J. F. Laird from
the property of Lee Cooke, which is one hundred and fifty-six and
seventy-five one-hundredths (156.75) feet from the property corner
of Cooke and Laird; thence from the said point of beginning and fol-
lowing along the property line of the school board and Laird a dis-
tance of one hundred and sixty-three and five-tenths (163.5) feet to a
point in said property line; thence turning an angle to the right of one
hundred and thirty (130) degrees and forty-three (43) minutes and
following along the property line of the school board and Laird a dis-
tance of one hundred and five and six-tenths (105.6) feet to a point in
said property line ; thence turning an angle to the right of one hundred
and ten (110) degrees and forty-five (45) minutes and following along
the property line of the school board and Laird a distance of one hun-
dred and sixty-two and thirty-five one-hundredths (162.35) feet to a
point in said property line; thence turning an angle to the right of
sixty-three (63) degrees and twenty-one (21) minutes and following
along the property line of the school board and Laird a distance of
two hundred and seventy-one and eight-tenths (271.8) feet to the point
of beginning, containing for the whole fifty-nine hundredths (0.59)
acres, more or less. |
