relating to marriages of white persons to colored persons. [S B 87]

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That section
forty-five hundred and forty-six of the Code of Virginia, be amended
and re-enacted so as to read as follows: ,
Section 4546. If any white person intermarry with a colored per-
son, or any colored person intermarry with a white person, he shall be
guilty of a felony and shall be punished by confinement in the peni-
tentiary for not less than one year nor more than five years.
