Chap. 61.—An ACT to authorize the surviving trustees of Cedar Grove School
~ property in Scott county to turn over to Scott county school board for the
benefit of Shoemaker high school the funds in their hands as such trustees.

Whereas, by an act of the general assembly of Virginia, approved
February twenty-eighth, eighteen hundred and ninety-eight, the trus-
tees of Cedar Grove school property in the town of Gate City (for-
merly Estillville), Scott county, were authorized to sell said property
consisting of about four acres of land; and ,
Whereas, said trustees sold said property for three hundred dol-
lars pursuant to said act, and after deducting expenses of sale and
paying off some small liens invested the remainder of the funds, which
is now held by the trustees, all of whom have died except I. P. Kane
and E. T. Carter; and :
Whereas, Shoemaker high school is the only educational institu-
tion in the town of Gate City (formerly Estillville) ; and
Whereas, there has recently been added to Shoemaker high school
buildings a costly gymnasium ; now, therefore, .
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
surviving trustees of Cedar Grove school property be, and they are
hereby, authorized and empowered to turn over the funds in their
hands as such trustees to the county school board of Scott county for
the benefit of Shoemaker high school.
