Chap. 6.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 2733 of the Code of Virginia,
relating to rewards and employment of detectives in felony cases. [H B 17]

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That section
twenty-seven hundred and thirty-three of the Code of Virginia, be
amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
Section 2733. The board of supervisors of any county, in its dis-
cretion, when any felony has been committed or attempted to be com-
mitted therein, may employ necessary agencies to aid in the arrest and
conviction of said criminal and expend for such purpose not to exceed
five hundred dollars; the board may also offer a reward, not to exceed
a like sum, for the arrest and conviction of the said criminal ; said sums
shall be paid out of the county levy.
