Chap. 316.—An ACT to amend an act entitled an act to provide a new charter for
the city of Roanoke and to repeal the existing charter of said city and the
several acts amendatory thereof, and all other acts or parts of acts inconsistent
with this act, so far as they relate to the city of Roanoke, approved March
22, 1924, by adding thereto a new section numbered section 17-a prescribing
the duties of the attorney for the Commonwealth in certain cases. [H B 239]

I. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That an act
entitled an act to provide a new charter for the city of Roanoke and
to repeal the existing charter of said city and the several acts amenda-
tory thereof, and all other acts or parts of acts inconsistent with this
act, so far as they relate to the city of Roanoke, approved March
twenty-second, nineteen hundred and twenty-four, be amended by
adding thereto a new section, numbered seventeen-a, to read as follows:
Section 17-a. The said attorney for the Commonwealth shall
prosecute the violations of all city ordinances, both in the civil and
police justice court and upon appeal, and shall notify the city attorney
in all such prosecutions in which the validity of a city ordinance is
attacked. )
