Chap. 289.—An ACT to authorize the board of visitors of the Virginia Agricultural
and Mechanical College and Polytechnic Institute, with the consent of the
governor, to lease under certain conditions not to exceed two acres of real
estate belonging to the said institution. [H B 132]

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
board of visitors of the Virginia Agricultural and Mechancial College
and Polytechnic Institute be, and it is hereby, authorized and em-
powered, in its discretion, if the said board is of the opinion that it
will be to the interest of the said institution, and with the consent of
the governor, to lease, under such terms and conditions as in the opin-
ion of the said board will be to the interest of the said institution, for
a period not to exceed ninety-nine years, to some person, firm, asso-
ciation or corporation a portion of the real estate, not to exceed two
acres, now owned by, and constituting the campus of the said institu-
tion, to be used by such person, firm, association, or corporation for
the purpose of erecting and operating thereon a hotel.
