Chap. 268.—An ACT giving authority to the Miller manual labor school of
Albemarle, to sell and convey its real estate when, in the opinion of its board
of trustees, the real estate to be conveyed is not needed for the use and purposes
of said corporation and the sale and conveyance thereof is in furtherance of
such uses and purposes, and ratifying the conveyances which have heretofore

Whereas, some question has arisen as to the authority of the Miller
manual labor school of Albemarle to sell and convey its real estate; and
Whereas, the general assembly of Virginia recognizes the authority
of said corporation to make sales and conveyances of its real estate,
when, in the opinion of the board of trustees of said corporation, the
real estate to be conveyed is not needed for the uses and purposes of
said corporation and the sale and conveyance thereof is in furtherance
of such uses and purposes; now, therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
Miller manual labor school of Albemarle be and it is hereby authorized
to make sales and conveyances of its real estate when, in the opinion
of its board of trustees, the property to be sold and conveyed is not
needed for the uses and purposes of said corporation and the sale and
conveyance thereof is in furtherance of such uses and purposes; and
that all conveyances of real estate and rights of way heretofore made
by the Miller manual labor school of Albemarle, which are now of
record in the clerk’s office of the circuit court of Albemarle county,
Virginia, be, and they are hereby approved, ratified and confirmed.
