Chap. 199.—An ACT to provide for the Virginia commission on county govern-
ment making a study of the fee system of compensation of public officers, and
making report to the governor. [H B 374]

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
Virginia commission on county government be, and is hereby, directed
to make a study of the fee system of compensation of public officers,
and in that connection, to collect such data and information con-
cerning methods of compensation of such officers, employed by other
states as may be helpful in the solution of the question in this State.

The said commission will make report of their findings, with such
recommendations as they may deem proper, to the governor at least
thirty days before the beginning of the next session of the general
assembly.
