Approved March 25, 1930
I. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That sec-
tion fifty-eight hundred and seventy-one of the Code of Virginia be
amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
Section 5871. The court, of its own motion, or upon motion of
either party may transfer any cause pending in said court at one
place of session to another place of session, there to be heard and
determined, and from time to time the court shall make such trans-
fers as will expedite the business of the court and prevent delays in
hearings.
The court at any place of session may enter any order or decree
in a cause originally docketed at any other place of session which it
could enter if in session at that place. When any such order or de-

the place where it is then sitting to the clerk at the place where the
cause was originally docketed, to be by him entered in the proper
order book of the court. All orders and decrees so made and entered
shall have the same force and effect as if made and entered in term.
Causes transferred from one place of hearing to another shall be
placed on the docket of the place to which transferred in accordance
with such rules as the court may prescribe.
