Chap. 408.—An ACT to validate the authorization, issuance and sale of fifteen
thousand dollars school board bonds of the city of South Norfolk, Vir-
ginia, and providing for their payment by an annual tax on all taxable
property in said city. - [TH B 377]

I. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
resolution of the school board adopted on the twenty-sixth day of
December, nineteen twenty-nine, providing for the issuance of school
board bonds of the city of South Norfolk in the amount of fifteen
thousand dollars and the resolution adopted by the common council
of said city on December twenty-third, nineteen twenty-nine, approving
the issuance of said bonds and the resolution of the common council
adopted on the seventeenth day of February, nineteen thirty, providing
for the levy of a tax upon the taxable properly in said city to pay the
interest on said bonds and provide a sinking fund for the redemption
thereof, are hereby legalized, approved and validated.
2. That the sale of said bonds, pursuant to notice published in the
Ledger-Dispatch, a newspaper published in the city of Norfolk, Vir-
vinia, and as provided in the resolution adopted by the school board of
the city of South Norfolk on the third day of February, nineteen
thirty, is hereby legalized and validated, and said bonds so sold shall,
when delivered and paid for, constitute legal obligations of said city,
ind taxes sufficient to pay the principal of and interest upon said bonds
theretofore levied upon the taxable property of said city, are hereby
legalized and validated.
3. An emergency existing this act shall be in force from its
passage.
