Chap. 310.—An ACT to authorize and empower the school board of Mecklen-
burg county to make sale and conveyance of property in Chase City, known
as the “Old Academy Lot.” [S B 395]

I. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
school board of Mecklenburg county, in this State, be, and it is, hereby
authorized and empowered to sell, either publicly or privately, subject
to the approval of the circuit court of said county, entered of record,
the lot of land in Chase City known as the “Old Academy Lot.” Upon
such sale the chairman of the board shall execute a conveyance there-
for, and when so executed and duly acknowledged, such conveyance
shall pass to the purchaser, or purchasers, such title as is now vested in
the said school board.
