Chap. 285.—An ACT to authorize and empower the board of visitors of the
Virginia School for the Deaf and the Blind to sell and convey a farm be-
longing to said school, commonly known as the Vincent property. [S B 287]

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
board of visitors of the Virginia School for the Deaf and the Blind, at
Staunton, be, and it is, hereby authorized and empowered to sell, either
publicly or privately, as it may seem to the best advantage of the said
institution, the farm now owned by it, situated on the northwest side
of the Staunton-Mt. Solon road, about one-half mile from the cor-
porate limits of the city of Staunton, and adjoining the Lyle property,
consisting of fifty-eight acres, two rods, and twenty poles, more or less.
The said board of visitors may, in its discretion, make sale of the said
land, either as a whole or in lots or parcel.
The president of the board of visitors of the said school is hereby
given authority to execute and deliver a good and sufficient deed for
any land sold hereunder, with general warranty of title, to the pur-
chaser, for and on behalf of the said institution. No sale and convey-
ance shall be made, as authorized herein, except upon a recorded vote
of three-fourths of the members of the board of visitors of the said
institution, entered upon the minute book of said board of visitors, anc
a copy of such minutes shall be incorporated into a deed or deeds
making conveyance of said land, or any part thereof.
