Chap. 10.—An ACT to legalize and validate the act§ 4nd proceedings of the town
of Waynesboro and of its officers and voters In relation to the issuance of
bonds of said town of the aggregate amourt-of two hundred and twenty-five
thousand dollars and to provide for the payffient of said bonds and for the
issuance of any portion of said bonds not heretofore issued. [H B 13]

_ 1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That all acts
and proceedings heretofore done or taken by the town of Waynesboro
and by its officers and voters for the purpose of providing for the issu-
ance of bonds of the aggregate face amount of two hundred and
twenty-five thousand dollars, dated the fifteenth day of July, one
thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine, including the ordinances
adopted by the town council of said town on the twenty-seventh day
of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine, and on the tenth
day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine, and the
special election held in said town on the twenty-eighth day of June, one
thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine, and the acts done and pro-
ceedings taken in and about the calling, holding, conducting and can-
vassing of said election, and the acts done by the officers of said town
in connection with the issuance of a portion of said bonds, consisting
of bonds of the aggregate face amount of fifty thousand dollars desig-
nated water bonds and bonds of the aggregate face amount of one
hundred and fifty thousand dollars designated general improvement
bonds, pursuant to said ordinance adopted on the tenth day of July,
one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine, are hereby legalized and
validated, notwithstanding any defect, irregularity or omission in, or
lack of authority for, said acts and proceedings.
2. Said water bonds and general improvement bonds heretofore
issued shall be valid and binding obligations of said town. The town
council of said town is hereby authorized to issue the bonds of the
aggregate face amount of twenty-five thousand dollars authorized to be
issued by said ordinances, adopted on the twenty-seventh day of May,
one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine and not heretofore issued,
and said bonds shall mature in six annual installments of five hundred
dollars each beginning on the fifteenth day of July, one thousand nine
hundred and thirty and ending on the fifteenth day of July, one thou-
sand nine hundred and thirty-five and in twenty-two annual install-
ments of one thousand dollars each beginning on the fifteenth day of
July, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-six and ending on the
fifteenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and fifty-seven. In
other respects said bonds shall be issued pursuant to and in the manner
provided by said ordinances adopted on the twenty-seventh day of
May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine.
3. The town council of the town of Waynesboro shall have power
annually to levy and collect a tax ad valorem upon all taxable property
of the town sufficient to pay the principal of and interest on said bonds
as they become due.
4. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its
passage.
